Frequently Asked Questions…
How long does it take?
Each RTT session lasts about 2 hours but sometimes up to 3 hours. For that reason, we ask that you block off a full morning or afternoon in your calendar to make sure you are not rushed
What does it feel like?
The experience feels different for different people. Some people feel a floating sensation, some feel entirely normal and feel like they are just having a chat with their eyes shut. Some may feel sleepy, some do not. Most people just feel relaxed and at ease and what’s important to know is that how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective the hypnosis is. Regardless of what it feels like – it’s working, I promise.
Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?
NO! That’s an old wives tale! You have complete control the whole time, you can talk, chat to me, move your body, get a tissue, even get up and leave. If our call gets disconnected you may drift into sleep but eventually you’ll notice that you’re not hearing my voice and will open your eyes.
Will I be under your power in hypnosis?
No, absolutely not. Hypnosis is actually a natural state that you experience in your day to day life (such as when you are engrossed when watching a film or arrive after driving somewhere and can’t remember actually driving) so it feels perfectly familiar to you. You are completely in control and cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to do and you cannot be taken into hypnosis against your will. It is your experience, I simply facilitate you.
What if I can’t be hypnotised?
You can. Everyone can…..even if you suffer from anxiety, you can. As long as you wish to enter hypnosis, you will. It’s an easy, enjoyable and thoroughly relaxing process.
How does it work?
Hypnosis is not magic – it’s science! It works by creating a burst of alpha brain waves that are the same as when you’re in REM sleep. That’s what allows you to access the subconscious mind and quieten the conscious mind. It’s very simple and anyone can do it, you’ll see for yourself when you do it too!
What if I don’t “go deep” enough?
Don’t worry about how deep you go. I want you to forget all about that. It’s really not important. The depth of trance is not linked to results at all. So don’t get stuck on “Am I deep enough?” Just tell yourself the truth – “This is working” and it will absolutely work. Just trust the process and know that it is effective.
What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?
What makes RTT amazing is that even if you think you know the reason, you see it in a COMPLETELY new way. That’s what allows you to change the meaning and ultimately, change your beliefs. And for many clients they go back to scenes that are totally different than what they expected. Just relax and trust that your subconscious mind will show you exactly what you need to see.
What if I go back to scenes that are painful or scary?
If you go back to scenes from your life that are related to things like sexual or physical abuse, or other trauma, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene, you are simply reviewing it and that you are safe. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal – you’ll be OK.
When will I start to see changes?
There are 3 types of change from Rapid Transformational Therapy – every person is different:
- Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away – immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviours right in the session.
- Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day, or over a few weeks.
- Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day 3-6 months later you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.
What if I need or want another session?
RTT is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create lasting change in your life in just one session. RTT is incredibly powerful at shifting a block or an issue that is showing up in your life that is holding you back. Some deep rooted issues may need more than one RTT session on a particular issue, but never more than 3. Some clients who see the power of RTT want to keep doing sessions to work on other areas of their life and receive ongoing coaching to integrate the new beliefs and build new success habits and behaviours. For these reason I offer different packages and do include coaching – please just let me know at the time of booking if you feel you will need ongoing support (highly recommended).
Can I be assured of confidentiality?
Absolutely. All clients can be assured of absolute confidentiality about any disclosed material, in accordance with professional codes of ethics. I do not contact other practitioners or doctors who the client may also be under, without the client’s permission. All records are stored in compliance with the latest GDPR guidelines.
What if I can’t attend your clinic – is Online Hypnosis really as good?
Online Sessions are equally as effective as face to face & more than 80% of my sessions are carried out online. I use Zoom or Skype which is reliable, easy and has no additional charge to you. All instructions are provided in advance of the session.
How can it work in just one session when I’ve been having therapy for ages?
Hypnosis allows direct access to the ‘reasons’ we do what we do & react the way we react etc saving you hours even years in talk therapy, searching for the source. The source of our issues are usually based on age appropriate understandings. When you’re able to observe yourself & these understandings from a non judgemental perspective it’s relatively easy to let them go & move onto rewiring new belief that are more beneficial.
Deep rooted issues can sometimes take 2 but never more than 3 sessions.
What if I uncover something I don’t want to share?
You are in complete control during hypnosis & if you don’t wish to share something, you won’t. It’s ok to keep details to yourself, I can still help you as long as you can tell me how the unnamed details affect you (as in how they make you feel).
What ages can you work with?
Anyone from 5 years to 105 years – although clients under 18 are on a case by case basis. It’s important to note that no matter the age it must be the CLIENT’S highest priority that is addressed in a session (and this often differs from parental priorities)
